 Launching of eHIMAPURTI by Hon'ble CM HP 24th July 2006
On 24th July 2006, Sh. Virbhadra Singh Hon’ble Chief Minister Himachal Pradesh inaugurated the eHIMAPURTI Web Portal of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department at H.P. Secretariat Shimla.
The web portal has been designed and developed by National Informatics Centre Himachal Pradesh. The presentation of eHIMAPURTI Web Portal was given by Sh. Rajesh Bahadur, SIO & Technical Director, NIC HP. He said that the web portal has been well organized in subparts providing Information about Department, Citizen Services, Online Data Entry by field offices, various Reports, Grievances/Complaints Facility for Public, Email Facility for Officials of Department for Inter-Department Communication and Notices & Updates of the department.

Sh. T.C. Janaratha, Director (FCS & CA) told about the objectives behind development of the web portal and the benefits for the department as well as for the public.

Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Virbhadra Singh Hon’ble Chief Minister Himachal said that the FCS & CA department has been bestowed the responsibility to implement various ambitious schemes viz. Antodaya, Annapurna and Targetd Public Distribution System benefiting all sections of the society part from performing several other multifarious functions like ensuring availability of essential commodities, curbing the malpractices of hoarding and profiteering by traders and exercise a vigil over price rise in open market. In view of the liberalized economy, the protection of consumer’s interest and educating them about their rights and responsibilities is yet another challenging task for the Government.

Sh. Virbhadra Singh said that the launching of the eHIMAPURTI Web Portal is thus a right step in the direction of increasing efficiency, transparency, disseminating information about various departmental activities among the public and consumers of the State. He further added that the web portal will help in monitoring the activities of the field offices and paper minimization between state headquarter and field offices at districts. It will not only provide better follow-up and monitoring but also reposition of faith among the general public on services of the department.

Sh. Virbhadra Singh appreciated the hard work and speedy action taken by the officers of FCS & CA and NIC for their dedicated contribution in computerization of the department and to reach the Himachal Pradesh in new vistas of IT enabled government services. The Chief Minister presented commendation certificates for the followings officers/Officials of FCS & CA and NIC: Sh. T.C. Janaratha, Director (FCS & CA), Sh. Rajesh Bahadur, SIO & Technical Director, NIC HP, Sh. Balbir Singha, Jt. Director (FCS & CA), Sh. Dharmesh Kumar, Principal System Analyst, NIC HP, Sh. Arun Sharma, Scientific Officer, NIC CM Cell, Sh Prakash Rosta, Jr. Assistant (FCS & CA), Sh. Ashok Kewta, Clerk (FCS & CA).
Training on eHIMAPURTI for Department Officials

The newly designed web portal eHIMAPURTI of Food , Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department , Himachal Pradesh is to be launched very soon. In order to train the officials of the department NIC Himachal Pradesh had conducted a training program for district & headquarter staff of the department from 3rd July 2006 to 5th July 2006 at computer training room, HP Secretariat, Shimla, HP. The presentation of the web portal was also given to Director, Food , Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department, HP by SIO Himachal Pradesh. The work of NIC was appreciated by the Director . 20 official from district offices and 12 from headquarter have attended the training program.
